Motivationbank , Motivational story, moral story

In 2006, after 40 days of climbing, he became the first ever of his kind,  to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world.

He also won a silver medal in one of the major cycling events in Sydney. He is one of the living examples of, “taking on the challenge” &, “embracing the change.”

Before we go into the actual story, this is my 11th short motivational story, hope you are liking it so far.

At the age of 12 he started chasing his dream of climbing the greatest mountains of the world.

At the age of 18 he started working as a search-and-rescue  mountaineer at Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park in New Zealand.

He also took up mountain biking while working there at Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park.

In the year 1982 when he was at the age of 23, He and his friend got stuck in an ice cave On  the summit of New Zealand's highest mountain, Aoraki / Mount Cook Due to an ice storm.

They were starving, and freezing to death. After waiting there for 13 and  1/2 days they got rescued and sent to Hospital.

Frostbite cost him to lose the most important resources for a mountaineer.

He lost both legs 14cm below the knee. So a 23 year old passionate Montainer lost  his two legs because of the frostbite.

Can you imagine what he did next?Any other person might have thought that as a full stop for the dream of climbing the world's

greatest mountains, a full stop for his cycling routine. But he didn't choose to think like that. Now he has a genuine excuse not to take stairs,  and to take the elevator. But he didn't choose to think like that.

He didn't call it a disaster. He called it a hiccup in the process of achieving his dreams. He didn't call it adversity. He called it a change, and started adjusting to it.

This Attitude and his subsequent exploits made him a Real Life Hero.In the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney He,  as a double leg amputee, won a silver medal in the 1 km time trial event.

In 2002, He reached the summit of Mt. Cook successfully. The journey was documented by the  film, “No Mean Feat: The Mark Inglis Story.”In 2004, he successfully climbed the mountain,

Cho Oyu, becoming only the second double amputee, to summit a mountain greater than 8,000 metres. On 15 May 2006, he became the first ever double amputee to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

This journey was filmed for the Discovery Channel series, Everest, Beyond the Limit. He calls himself a person with a pair of legs that can never get frostbite. He is Mark Inglis.

I think I don't need to explicitly mention what I learned from the story.if a double amputee person can reach the summit of Mount Everest,  then, there is no meaning for the term “lack of resources to achieve a dream.”

Anything and everything that happens to you in your journey to the dream, nothing but a Change. Adjust to it, take on the challenge, and, Never Stop.
